me, I would ask therefore my Lord, if it be possible, that Mr A Kemp's appointment as Deputy Registrar and Appraiser be reconsidered and that he be appointed Deputy Registrar and Accountant, giving the senior position to me.
10. I feel that the true situation has not been brought fully to your Lordship's notice, or that it has been overlooked, but if on considering my letter your Lordship feels that you cannot make any alteration in the Deputy appointments, I respectfully beg that your Lordship will transfer me to some other legal post, commensurate with my experience and attainments, in another Colony- where I may have an opportunity of serving His Majesty's Colonial Government under happier auspices for I feel that this recent appointment will damage me socially and cast a slur upon my abilities.
11. The present moment my Lord, is a most favourable opportunity of enquiring into my abilities and moral worth, should you think of transfering me elsewhere, and I would respectfully beg to refer your Lordship to Sir John Worrell Carrington- our former Chief Justice, also to Sir William Meigh Goodman our present Chief Justice, and also to Mr Justice Wise, the Puisne Judge, all of whom, so far as I am aware, will be in England
